Ok, I've done something, but I'm snookered I cant figure out where.

FS9, and I've being playing, making airports, adding scenery, adding thermals, generally having fun, but somewhere I done something that has made all the compass bearings wrong, including the map and the magnetic compass.
Its almost like I've shifted the whole earth off its axis.

If the runway is pointing north 36, everything tell me I'm facing 120 degrees... its wrong everywhere.

I'm trying to figure out what could do this, is there a magnetic variance file somewhere thats been changed?

I load my back up its fixed, but as soon as I start putting back sceneries and airports (I think), my whole world tilts again winkyy.gif

I cant figure out what the hell is doing it.... if I set the gyro's, all works, but if I press D, my world turns upside down again winkyy.gif

Thanks....

Is the runway ACTUALLY 36? depending on the tool you are using, it could have 36 as the label but not be pointed in that direction? also, what does your GPS say? (you will have to move ever so slightly forward for the GPS to give you a reading, it doesn't work like a magnet). Last question, where in the world are you adding things? Based on the information given, you could be in Alaska, making it quite normal... biggrin.gif

No, its every airport, even the MAP is wrong, but don’t worry I found the culprit, and interestingly its a New Zealand thermal file called NZUpdate.zip from some site.

I could well have mixed versions or something, but that’s the culprit, I load that scenery and my world turns upside down.
Obviously this tells us that there is a whole lot going on in scenery files, and that Microsoft lets one scenery file mess the entire system up.

So now I know who is playing with earths magnet winkyy.gif
Code probably done by an Australian, hey, trying to make kiwi's fly the wrong way smile.gif biggrin.gif

The author, Francisco Augusto Vargas Carneiro, is Brazilian. Yep; NZUpdate really messes around with NZ sceneries. If you want thermals in FS9, best bet is to do them manually with Peter Lürkens' Cumulus! programme.
