Hey all, just been having problems with my saitek throttle and wondering if anyones had the same problem, especially in bigger aircraft when i slowly and progresivly advance the throttles ford they go crazy. e.g when i move throttles forward around an inch or so the power on my aircraft goes to 100% and then i move the throttles forward another inch or so and then they go to idle, iv checked all sensitivitys & null zones etc, and just downloaded the fsuipc as i thought this may help but i cant seem to set it up correctly, are there any good tutorials to set them up for fs9??
any help gratly apprciated.

Sounds to me like you have spiking (dirty pots). I used to have to do it all the time on my old Thrustmaster throttle - but have not attempted it on my Saitek X52 (Standard).

I'd recalibrate in Windows, then go check you haven't got anything whacky in the default MSFS calibration before you try adding any FSUIPC corrections.

That said, I've found the some aircraft I have go bonkers on autopilot/autothrust - notably my [hugely expensive] Wilco A320. It may have started after I added FEX, when it updates new winds etc. This happens even without my being anywhere near the PC - worse after a long flight on A/P.

Is it all aircraft or just some?

If we have the same throttle, I'll make a note of what my calibration settings are.

it is all aircraft, but some worse than others

that would be great thank you, i dont know how to check what version it is, but i got it with the yoke around a year ago, cheers guys!

You have a yoke? I have the X52 throttle and stick. Maybe the little slider thingy isn't as well built as a (more) traditional throttle <??>.

I'll look up my settings anyway ... watch this space winkyy.gif

Thank you Adamski. i have been doing some research into the spiking and it seems like that is what is wrong with it, and i havnt found a sure fire way to fix it yet apart from buy another one sad.gif

Over the years, I've heard all sorts of voodoo for this, but I can't see how any of them work as (I think) the pots are basically a disc with some sort of carbon surface. Once that wears off (in certain places), no amount of lubrication will help <?>. Possibly a bit of lubrication *before* it wears away could help, but then the wrong sort of spray could affect the electrical resistance of the contact with disc, so I dunno ....

The only spray I ever used was some "electrical clean and lube" but I can't honestly say that it made much difference. Why stick manufacturers can't use optical sensors I just don't know - the technology has been around for years, and is pretty cheap. Surely they don't use carbon pots in "real" aircraft (for the side stick etc.) <?>.

FYI, my [throttle] calibration is like so:

Windows: Calibrate, set to default then leave well alone winkyy.gif
FSX: Sensitivity 100% Null 0.
FSUIPC: Filter (only) - no other modification.

there is alot of problems like this out there, it seems that the pots that saitek has used are not long lasting, i too have the same proplem, i have used the fsuipc filtering to help, but the ultimate solution i have founbd is to use a different quadrant, luckly i have two, it is very annoying
