Had a small problem today with FSX not working well and also other programs running slow on the computer. Found out from the task manager that one program was using about 90% of the CPU. Turned out that it was avgnsx.exe which is a legitimate part of AVG. Easily disabled and apparently not an essential part of AVG (find it under Tools->Advanced->Link Scanner), so that the CPU freed up again.

Probably an update from yesterday that caused the problem, but all solved now. So if you have similar problems, then have a look to see if the avgnsx.exe program is causing the problems, it might be the same for many people,

smooth landings.

I have AVG running on a couple of machines (but looking at other threads here, I'm wondering) ... and the first thing I do when I install new versions is to remember to disable (or never install in the first place) the dreaded link scanner.

I've heard similar cases where AVG has slowed peoples systems right down..
I just use NOD 32, have had it since I first got a desktop and have it on my new computer now, it's pay ware however I have never had a single virus, and it's so dam easy and simple to use and doesn't use bugger all computer resources. I would recommend this to anyone and believe it's one of the best out there!
