Loading complex add-on aircraft

The place to ask for help or solve each others technical issues and discuss hardware

Ryan from PMDG just posted this in a thread on one of their forums, in a discussion about loading complex aircraft and why you have to start by loading a default aircraft. I thought it was worth passing on ...

QUOTE
The real issue is what you have your default aircraft set to when the Free Flight screen comes up - FS loads that aircraft in the background when FS starts, so if it's not the Ultralight, Cessna etc and you have it load another complex aircraft, FSX gets confused internally when you try to load a different complex aircraft on top of the one that's already loaded invisibly. If you have FSX set to the default MS Ultralight at Friday Harbor, you should be able to load most complex aircraft right there from Free Flight and then straight into the sim. Ours definitely do work that way.[/quote]

Read, absorb, reset your default flight to a default plane if necessary ...

Been there, done that, for a while now, and completely agree with this advice! biggrin.gif Plus it's easy to shutdown a Cessna 182 in preparation for a cold and dark cockpit.
