I don't often fly to/around auckland, but recently I dicovered that I am unable to reach there or start from any airport in the area. It comes up with the message "Microsoft Flight Simulator has stopped working," then by "A problem caused the program to stop working properly. Microsoft will notify you of any fixes to the problem." Sorry this may not be 100% acurate as I can't copy and paste what is says. I am running window 7. Any help would be appreciated. smile.gif

I know Auckland supercity addon does not cause this issue so my question would be what addons do you have installed for airports etc

some causes
Flattens from 3 party addons
Afcads
Addon aircraft
double ups files etc

Connor , put all your saved files from ' Appdata' /Roaming ' into a new folder . When you start FSX state your default flight is missing , you then create a new flight , example Hamilton to Auckland , just for sake save as '1' then fly .

Later stage you can reinstall each one off your favorite or previous flights , one would have been corrupted .

I remember having a similar issue with a previous FSX install, with the older Real NZ aulckland and a bunch of other lanclass and 3rd party scenerys. Every time i tried to fly in or out of Aukland, i hit an invisible wall which crashed the aircraft. No issues though with vlc and Auck supercity.

I disabled all but my traffic and it still went pear shaped.

Yes well it sort of surprised me when I realized that I hadn't even bothered to try and fly there in months tongue.gif

I just had a look in appdata/Roaming/FSX and couldn't find any saved flights. do you mean My Documents/Flight Simulator X files?

Simply collect saved Flights , put them into a new folder ie : 'old flights' then restart FSX , I will tell you restarting at a the default field , you can change that directly and create a flight in NZHN , from here you should be able to fly into NZAA without a problem .

Unfortunately, I tried this but I'm still getting the same problem. Is there anything else I can do?

Connor, just go as far as HamX , and then turn south again.....not much worth seeing any further north anyway tongue.gif ....i think theres another city up there somewhere...a super city , if the rumours are true....but who knows.....study your south island maps....the world stops about 10k north of Hamilton winkyy.gif

Got it working again, there is a scenery file in Addon Scenery that is throwing it out of whack. I'm not sure which file it is, but I have nothing for the Auckland area in addon scenery so it is simply a matter of un-checking that scenery area in the library.
Always helps if you remember to re-check it before you get home as well! tongue.gif
