Am I having a senior moment...........? Aircraft files in SimObjects. I cannot see any .air files present in any of the aircraft that fly in FSX on my sim. Looking for example on Flightsim.com you can see the .air files for each aircraft that you might want to download and install. Aircraft that are unzipped in my download folder and not yet installed in FSX do not appear to have a .AIR file present. Everything else is there cfg etc. FSX runs fine and the aircraft including the default AI fly as they are suppose to.
FSX on my system is running on Windows 7 64bit professional. This is just an observation and was just wondering if it is a windows 7 thing?
Cheers,
Daryl

Not a Windows 7 issue, just Windows in general. You will have AIR files, they just might not be visible. Or they might appear but without the .air extension. The most likely culprit is Adobe Air, which would register the .air extension, so if you have 'Hide extensions for known file types' selected in Folder Options it'll appear this way.

Thankyou for that Robin. Uncheck hide file extensions and the .air is added to the file name. It shows up now. The file type says Installer Package, hence the confusion with the hide extensions ticked.
