Would love to fly helos in FSX but have always been concerned about hardware required to fly them to achieve a realistic experience.
A question to all you helo operators.
What do you guys use and or recommend to achieve this ?

Primary requirement would be rudder pedals and a throttle quadrant , thats the closest with making a special controller . Twist grip and throttle combo simple don,t do it for me .

If you own a throttle quadrant, you can mount it verticaly (on its side) in the appropriate location and you'l have the cheapest fuctioning cyclic money can buy. winkyy.gif

That what I use for helos, it occurred to me a few days ago I could assign the twist grip to the throttle which is normally firmly on so I can hold it against the stop and use the throttle lever just for the cyclic tongue.gif collective. Anyone tried that before I start reassigning things ?

In the words of Homer Simpson - "D'oh!!" Tie me up and whip me. Yes I mean the collective. How could I be so stupied, I've flown and built RC heli's for years. Call it a blonde moment. ninja.gif

hahahahaha everyone has them Andrew but your idea is good, i wouldn't be able to use a throttle quadrant as a collective without doing what you said to do. i use a logitech xtreme 3d pro and thats good enough for me but i dont have a proper set-up, im just sitting on a beach chair with the laptop on a coffee table in the lounge room, so i wouldn't be able use rudder pedals
