Hi To All,

I have recently added the Saitek rudder pedals to my rig, with the result that my computer now and again looses the drivers for the flight yoke and subsequent loss of any directional control.( this only occurs when starting my computer not during flight)
my only remedy is to pull out the tower, unplug the usb and replug, it which is not the most satisfactory way of doing it, do any of you knowledgeable persons out there how to permanently fix this fault and what may be causing it,
the yoke worked fine all the time prior to fitting the rudder pedals?

Mine does the same from time to time. Apparently if you have too many controllers (quadrants instruments) plugged into the yoke you will/might need a seperate power supply for the yoke.
Apparently the USB ports has limited voltage to run a limited number of controllers. I have not done this as yet.I tend to check my 2 quadrants before flying to make sure the power lights are on, and if not I just restart the PC again and all is OK.Seems to happen sometimes if my PC has been in sleep mode for a while.
This might help.

Hi to All,

Thanks for that input from you all, i believe i may have discovered the problem and that my flight yoke has sucked the proverbial kumera, as i have no display on my yoke and the rudder pedals work off another usb plug, my throttle quadrant lights up but no display (clock that is) in any mode from the yoke,
i de constructed my yoke to check usb continuity and all cables passed but there is a circuit board in the line and that may be a bit sus.
I have tried every USB outlet on my computer but the yoke remains......Mute.

thanks for your assistance you guys and i will now have to track down a repair agent.

regards

TOM

Esteemed Knowledgeable persons.

if any of you have Saitek Gear that has required a repair job where did you get it done? If i could a new board for the yoke i would have a go at fitting it myself (everything is colour coded) i emailed the saitek people in Albany Auckland yesterday but have not had an answer..............Yet.
any assistance would be appreciated.

Hi Ian,

I have FSUIPC installed and i dont think it is the problem, as the yoke has worked with the rudders for a short time, i also plugged the rudders separately into another USB port with the same result.

Many thanks again

Hi guys,

having run saitek gear from the start, i might be able to help you out, first up i don't think you will get much help as far as replacement parts, it may be cheaper to buy a new one. also ditch the saitek drivers, unless you are using the for a specific button profile setup they are not needed, you can use either the default fsx settings, or my preferred option is to use FSUIPC to set the axis up, it is really easy to do and if you need any help give me a yell, good luck and i hope i am wrong about saitek parts, but going on previous experience with hardware suppliers you may be out of luck. i don't use the inbuilt usb ports on the yoke, had no end of problems with devices dropping off.

Hi Jason,
Thought that might be the case in regards parts replacement, and if you cant find them in Aus we have two shows of getting them in NZ. I have a very good radio tech who may be able sort out some sort of fix, it has to be the usb hub that is faulting as the throttle quad comes from the same hub on a different plug (as you will know) and it still has power and response, thanks for your advice on drivers

Hi Jason,
Thanks for that, we had snow again today first day of spring " Global warming what a lot of horses patuti " got another flight yoke in my sights, however my tech friend said he will give the old one the once over and as long as it is not an IC Chip he should be ab le to do something.
