Hi guys,

So I have FSX running okay on my laptop, but it limits me in my simming to running only basic addons. So I will be buying a new rig shortly and am wondering what to get? i5, i7? ATI, nVidia? etc etc.

What should I look for in a computer that will be used for both simming and general use? My budget is around $1200-$1500.

Which one of these would run FSX the best?

That last one with the i7 looks good if you can stretch it but doesn't come with a full version of Windows 7, so you'd have to factor that extra cost in as well which goes well over your budget.

Having said that the other two i5 spec machines will run FSX decent and gives you room to buy whichever monitor you like!

The first 2 only have H61 motherboards. Wouldnt even concider them for a gaming system. No overclocking ability and only support slow ram. Even the most expensive system of your 3 states a P67 motherboard which is weird because I didnt think they supported the new Ivy Bridge cpu's and even if they did, your not going to get the benefits of the new processor on an older motherboard.Check out the link at PBtech. Same processor, faster ram, bigger graphics card, the new Z77 mobo and windows 7 premium x64bit

Because they build to order, i would say they would be accomodating if you wanted to go for an equivalent Nvidia card but either will do the job nicely.

PBtech have stores all over Auckland, one in Hamilton and one in Wellington.
