FSX crashes after loading

The place to ask for help or solve each others technical issues and discuss hardware

Hi everyone,

Unfortunately I have been unable to play FSX over the last few days due to it consistently crashing once the loading bar reaches 100%. Basically, once the game has finished loading it simply exits to the desktop (no error message or anything). Does anyone have even the slightest idea why this might be happening? I really hope it doesn't mean I have to do the dreaded reinstall as that would take FOREVER lol!
Cheers,
Oli

Two things you can do , Delete your saved flights first ! then give it a try ... the second is deleting your FSX Cfg. since you have just setup your FSUICP for the helicopter controls be careful and say NO or it will revert to the default control settings (read careful) since your collective is now working and you want to keep the current control settings .

If Ian's suggestions don't work, have a look at your event viewer to see what is happening.

You don't mention your operating system but if you use windows search function you should be able to find it. That is a good place to start looking.

If it has an error code either Google yourself or post it here ideally with a screen shot and either myself or someone else will try to work it out.
Takeoff's are optional. Landings are mandatory.

Thank you for your replies. I seem to have fixed the problem by deleting the entire FSX folder (that contains fsx.cfg) but I will do some more testing to see if that has really fixed the problem.
Cheers,
Oli
