Well, I don't play much flightsim now, because my FSX is plagued with BLURRY TEXTURES!!!!! mad.gif

From blurry aircraft textures (Both Interior and Exterior of all default aircraft and some of my addon aircraft) to blurry text, whenever I put up that top menu bar and also when I use the ATC function and on the ATC Menu, it shows blurry text!!!

This has been going on for more than a month and I have recently tried these methods

Deleting FSX.cfg
Repairing FSX
Uninstalling SP2
Deleting unused addons
and uninstalling and reinstalling some addons

And sadly they didn't work.

Addons I have:

VLC
GSX (Demo Version)
FSDreamTeam's Couatl Addon Manager
WOAI Traffic (a truckload of AI packages!)
GNZLAP
HTAI Cessna Single Engine Props
Custom made AI Traffic (AIG Flightplans)
Some AI Aircraft made flyable
Thomas Ruth's A330-200, A330-300 and A340-600
IRIS Lockheed F-35
POSKY B777-300ER
PA A320-200
Airport Design Editor X
PAD Dash 8, EMB 120
Lawrie's sceneries
RealNZ Wellington and Marlbrough (Across The Straight)
Some of Doug's sceneries
Christchurch AGN by Ian Warren, Doug and Robin
Some sceneries by Ray Smith, but since I edited them a bit to make it more realistic.
Some of my own sceneries (Not Publicly available ATM)
Godzone's Hokitika, Takitimu, Timaru, Ashburton, Kaikoura, Taranaki
Che's NZNP
VLC Nth Island Airfields and Sth Island Airfields
VLC Galatea, Opotiki, Murchison, WaihiBeach, Kaipara Flats and SpringHill
FSCreations NZHN, NZAP and NZWU
Misc Whakatane, Te Kuiti and Dunedin

Well that sounds like a lot of addons! The quenstion is that has this issue lurking because of so many addons or my computer specs?

If you're getting blurry text in the menu bar, I would be looking outside FSX at your graphics card or drivers. Looking at your addons I don't see anything that can cause an issue like this, I fly similar and a LOT more demanding addons than those with no blurries... (Tho that PA Airbus can cause a pain in the lower part of the spherical item that forms part of your body...). If anything they would just cause a stutter or FPS drop off..

- Have you updated your drivers since this started? If so, have you tried rolling back to a previous version?
- Have you noticed any graphics hiccups or blurry issues in anything else, no matter how small or trivial it may have seemed at the time?

Can you post us your build specs, OS, Graphics card, Hardware info...

I haven't updated my drivers since this issue started, but updating drivers could potentially remove all of my FSX and my addons.
Secondly I havent had any blurry issues in other programs but I had Sudden FPS disasters with other programs like Chrome, Minecraft, League of Legends (not much) etc. since that FSX has the most graphic hiccups out of all of my other programs with Zero FPS frequently, Blurries (as stated in my intro post), CTDs (Crashes To Desktop). To add on, I have my FSX graphics at these

Target FPS: 50
Full size res: 1280x800x16
Filtering: Anisotropic
Anti-aliasing: True
Texture Res: Max
Preview DX10: False
Preview Lens: True
Light Bloom: True
Advanced Animations: True
Informational Text: Continuous

Thirdly, I will get the hardware info the next morning. I will keep you in touch then.

You won't lose any addons or FSX just by updating graphics drivers (Driver updates don't delete your games or associated addons).. If you have had sudden FPS loss in other programes tho then I would definitely be booking more towards graphics card and drivers, or possibly even RAM (Longshot). Will await your hardware info and if you can do a RAM check (Lots of freeware programes can tell you how that's working)

UPDATE

Bad news sad.gif

My computer is a laptop, and I talked to my brother and he said that you cant change a graphics driver on a laptop. Is it true or false?

If true, what other solutions can I use to fix this?

If false, how do you change the graphics driver?

That is your problem, simply your PC is the bottom end, tho downgrade to FS9 and you will get far better performance and display, many still use it here. this maybe your better or only option.

I would also pop onto the ATI website and make sure you graphics drivers are up to date (You csn update drivers on any computer, it's standard computer care keeping drivers up to dste)

Your problem their Zain is your Laptop - as Ian said its waay to bottom end to run FSX satisfactorily - I tried to run fsx on my dads laptop which had an i5 processor and 4GB of ram - but it just kept crashing and running out of memory - FS9 would probably run a lot better on your laptop although with only a Intel® Core™2 processor and only 2GB of ram.........

Well Terry and Ian, you guys are right. It's because of my laptop, WISH IF I HAD A PC INSTEAD!!!!!!!!!! blink.gif

But I don't have FS9, Well, this leaves me with omitchell's idea or get a new PC computer.

EDIT: My bro told me that when you update graphics drivers, they don't improve your FSX performance.

I run it on an Intel i3 quite successfully but yes, WinXp, 2Gb Ram and a CoreDuo is not gonna help anything

Nothing to do with improving FS performance, it's to do with trying to solve your blurry issue. As I said earlier, keeping your drivers up to date is basic computer care. To increase performance the only way you could do that is to upgrade to a higher spec computer, or shift your settings sliders a little more to the left.

Well, as I said elsewhere, the graphics card can only paint the screen with what the CPU is able to feed it.

Some years back, when I was being a friendly support person for an ISP, I got a call from a customer "My computer is acting really weird it is doing "this, and this, and this"
So I asked if he had been using Kazaa, and he had, so I knew what was wrong and told him I could fix it, but it would take a couple of hours at least and I charged $60/hr.
He was OK with that, so I went and cleaned his machine, installed some freeware protection, and left him some printed material to back up my advice about cyberspace safety.
A few weeks later, I got a call from the same bloke. He was having the same problems he rang me about before, which I had fixed, and told him how to avoid, so I asked how come he now had the same trouble.

"Oh yeah, but my stepmother-in-law's ex-boyfriend said I didn't need that stuff so I got him to delete it all."

So I told him I would fix it again, it would still take a couple of hours, but this time I would be charging $100/hr.
He called me a "smart b*****d" and hung up.

There is a moral there, for those who can see it.

Having worked tech support myself I know that moral all too well, that and many others...

Seeing as you have a Radeon card, download the latest ATI driver set and run the AMD Catalyst Control Center program to fix your blurries.

This is done through the Gaming > 3D application settings > fsx.exe sub menus. You will need to select 'override application settings' for anti aliasing and anisotropic filtering, then adjust the levels of each to that which your laptop can handle.

laugh.gif I had a similar thing ... having a computer expert doing this or least he thought he was , " well I don't that and I don't need this " deleting most of his OS-dlls - little like Knock Knock ... anybody home, when he brought across to my place I managed to get in enough to find it wasn't his computer - stolen? more than likely , I refused to do any more as he did not have OEM , he told me "frig off"

This numbnuts took it across to a Chinese internet cafe there at the time - got his laptop fixed , I thought typical corrupt Chinese, ... next day the police were at his door laugh.gif , he moved out month so later , some mothers really do have them.

That left me blurry eyed with laughter!

My Doug built rig is doing well .... i dont get the blurs , but any fine panel lines look awful . Ive got the Milviz F-15 (which i love), but cant screen it because it looks like an ants nest ... not Big D's problem .
Maybe after the upgrade .... Win7 64bit , bigger graphics card (WHY Card , when they are bigger... in size... than the CPU ) winkyy.gif

Well Andrew (aka ArdyPilot) has put up a very good idea. Well thanks for your contributions, will get you updated soon whether it is fixed or not

Sadly, the maintenance of the graphics card (ardypilot's idea) has been delayed till tomorrow due to my bro wanting to use the computer.
