Can anyone recall the simple change to the panel cfg , that will allow fs9 a/c appear in fsx .... not looking long . Adamski told me how to do it a thousand years , but i cant remember or find the post .
And as odd as it sounds , it is the panel cfg file .

I vaguely remember a tweak where you just aliased the FS9 panel to one which was already working in FSX.
In my FSX, I also have an Aircraft folder, just like FS9 does, and I have found that some FS9 planes will work from there but not from SimObjects/Aircraft.
(please don't ask why this should be the case - I haven't the foggiest )
EDIT 30-11-2014: Of course I meant SimObjects/Airplanes, but that word is not normally part of my vocabulary winkyy.gif

Does the FS9 aircraft have an aliased panel? As emfrat says, you will need to change the alias to a comparable FSX aircraft panel folder. The same needs to be done for the Sound folder (if it too is aliased).

Thanks guys .... i got it sorted . I remembered what to do , its the last line of code in the panel cfg .
Oddly , i copied the info from the B-58 and pasted it into the TSR-2 .... and nothing .... just a long half screen .
Although , the B-58 is an fs9 model , there must be something elsewhere that allows it to view properly ..... so i looked at the Alpha Tornado , cut and pasted the last part of the cfg (panel) into the TSR-2 and its good .
The panel itself is pretty rough , but i rarely fly from the inside anyway.

If it helps , this is what i did .

[Default view]
X=0
Y=0
size_X=8192
size_Y=6143

and save the change.

I think we need to start a Tips in the 'General' or ' Technical Issues' thread and have it pinned .... it will help many.

CalClassics has some useful stuff on this subject - it is in the main page, not the forum (although there is a lot of good info there, too.)
