Just ranting ... sorry ...
Brand new Saitek Combat Pro pedals.
Probably less than 4 hrs of actual use (i.e. feet actually touching 'em) over the 2 months I've had 'em.
Rudder axis gone the way of the dodo.
...and if I press a toe brake, either one, I get full right rudder deflection and it stays there.

This after living for months without pedals after the previous Saitek Cessna ones finally gave up the ghost (after a lead-footed acquaintance pushed his work boot through 'em).

Let's see how helpful Might ape are going to be on this one...

Jeff , .... near brand new , I'm very sure Mighty Ape will pick up the slack as you would be on their books for such an item, only 4 hour off use .. , that would really peeve me off , very sure you are going to be fine for a replacement.

I presume you have checked that settings in FSX haven't got muddled up as I have seen that occur when I've plugged them into a different USB port. I've had the throttles closing when applying left rudder which was somewhat disconcerting just after take off!!

Yep, been through all the troubleshooting. My P3D rig is dedicated, so nothing changes. It worked as I taxied out to the runway threshold. Failed during pre-takeoff checks when I went to Li e up. Just went around in circles.
Frustrating.

I’ve had Saitek Yoke/pedals and quadrant for quite a few years. All of a sudden, about three months ago, I experienced problems with the pedals like you’re having. It was extremely frustrating. All the programming in FSUIPC and FSX made no difference. Assignments in both showed they were being recognised when calibrating etc, but aircraft rudders and ground steering still didn’t work. The only way I could get ‘some’ functionality was assign them in FSUIPC and FSX simultaneously. But that was fraught with conflicts. I eventually found something in the AeroSoft forum. It was recommended a member download and try something called JoyID. I downloaded it and low and behold it worked. Don’t ask me how, but I now have functioning rudder pedals again. If all else fails, give it a go.

Thanks for the Link Bruce , this is something that will help many others , we need get these tech fix's pinned.

I have also had problems of a different kind with these pedals. I had the old Ch pedals and they worked like a charm, Then I decided to sell them for the newer metal ones and they are nice but such a pain to setup. I installed the calibration for them and every thing worked fine. I had to reinstall FSX due to a sound problem which I hope will stay fixed and the calibration on the aircraft is all mucked up. The brakes stay hard on all the time which Is quite a easy fix. if anyone has this problem I know how to fix it let me know. The other was the control surfaces were being controlled by the pedals so if I pushed down the brakes it would push the nose of the aircraft down and if I moved them side by side it will control the ailerons. I did get it all setup in the end but the hardware calibration can be a pain in the butt. This is not rare I know allot more others that have the same issue.

Mighty Ape sent me a courier ticket. I returned pedals and had a whole new set a few days later. These are installed (a week later) and work just fine. I guess I'll see if they last any longer! So far so good though and happy with Might Ape response. I still don't feel the combat pedals are as good, robust or 'nice' as the Cessna pedals were though.

..the last time I ever got involved in "Pedals" was some time in the late 1940's, which involved using a; "Bicycle" as a means of transport.

I very quickly discovered that the experience, for me, was never going to catch on, (a daft idea, and far too much hard work involved), so almost immediately, (1950), I purchased the first of my large number of different "Motorcycles".

"Motorcycle": A Bicycle with a powerful internal combustion engine fitted between the wheels, (and no bloody "Pedalling" involved!).... ...!

Never looked back, ever since... ...!

lol, I own the Pro combat ones, They are nice but I had so much more luck with the Old CH ones wish I never got rid of them. And now you cant buy them if you can its overseas at $$$$ Shipping

I had a set off CH rudder pedals ... BROKE .. went into a shop ... they got the better off him .. I simply went out and brought a new Saitek set .. the world off Flight Simulation

I miss my bike. Haven't ridden in years. Wanted to get a bike a couple of years ago. New wife said no. Told me to go get my microlight license instead. Who was I to argue with that? I can't ride like I used to anyway; have a renewed sense of self-preservation these days now I have a family.

She's got to be a 'keeper' take good care of her.

I agree, I love riding and much as I do flying, I just wished the Plane was as affordable as a bike to run.

Some of those microlights are little more than a stripped-down motorbike with wings.....

Some months ago I was given a complete set of Saitek Yoke, Rudder pedals, and Throttle unit...all for free...

I tried them for an hour, (or less), found that I couldn't stand all the clutter around me and my desk, and very quickly reverted back to my trusty Saitek Cyborg X, Fly5 Joystick, with its twist rudder and twin throttles....

..does the job, all that I require, and takes up no room at all... ...!

A very satisfied Bunny!... ...!
