Updating P3D

Dumb question time again .... I have recently purchased active sky 2016 and cloud art 2016 , as well as the global airport enhancer pack.
One of these requires the latest version ( enhancer i think) of P3D.

Ive got (not installed ) the latest version of P3D , and also the latest "client" thing ... a small file.
I read somewhere , all i need is the client bit.... is that right ?

Im really worried about losing everything Ive spent months adding to my present version .
Even got a new external drive to install the new version ... just in case i killed the old one.

So .... full install , or just the client little thing ?

Awaiting your informed and much appreciated reply.

Hi Splitpin
I think you can just use the client update. That is what I used to update to the last version.
Here is a link to the install instructions. All the info you need on installing is there.

I've updated Prepar3d through every minor version via the Client update only, except for one when I decided it was time for a clean install. (Well, when I say 'decided' I mean I munted my registry, so had to do a clean install.)
The way they handle the updates is great, you shouldn't lose anything. Don't hold me to that....
