Looks like my 1070 has died...i was quite happy with its performance ising MSFS..any recommendations for something under $600....yes budget not much but I don't see any point in spending more when 1070 was quite adequate

I'm running MSFS 2020 comfortably on an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060. Runs at 40-50 FPS on medium settings, with some Ultra settings too.

Bummer re the card !! .. no real advice to offer really as I'm on the CPU upgrade cycle at present not up w the GPUs.. however I believe there's not MUCH in it between a 3060 and 4060 performance wise in MSFS and the 3060's are in a pretty decent sweet spot price wise in NZ right now (~$500nzd) .. that's prolly what I'd be getting if penny pinching.. but if u really do wanna spend $600 then a 4060 does seem to make sense

You can run frame generation on the 40xx series card, which helps although there is a mod to run it on the 30xx series too.

Thanks guys for your advice! Leaning towards a 4060 ...will sort out tomorrow with my local PB Tech branch...and looking forward to some smooth sim flying this weekend!
