Hello,

I'm wondering if the FSX users amongst us could help me out a little.

I'm going to be upgrading my PC for my 21st Birthday present, and I've been doing some research into just about every component in the PC to see what would run best. I've almost settled on the idea of having this system:

Intel Core 2 Duo 2.66GZ or 3GHZ.
Asus P5B Motherboard
2-3GB DDR2 800mhz RAM
Geforce 7950GT 512MB PCI-E
600W PSU

So the FSX users amongst us, if you could let me know your system spec's and what the best all round setup would be to run FSX nicely.

Cheers,

That will run FSX nicely.
Your specs are a little bit better than mine and i can play mine on almost all full settings(except autogen and traffic)

Sorry for hijacking the thread a bit Chris but I'd like to knwo how mine would go too.Specs in my sig. Don't know much about my mobo, but it's not a very flash one. It might be a good idea to note that most of my flying is in heavies around large cities..

That's kind of like saying that Duke Nukem Forever is the future of gaming[1]... I'll believe it when I see it... dry.gif

I have found with autogen disabled and with a bit of tweaking fsx to your preference, the frame rates are higher and fsx looks far better than fs9.
My system is only 1GB of ram, radeon9800XT and a very old athlon xp 3000+.

Motherboard:Gigabyte GA-945PL-S3
CPU: E6400,2.13 core 2 duo
Memory: 2GB@533
Graphics: WinFast PX7600GS 256MB PCI 16x

This is what I call a low end system for FSX,I use reduced autogen textures, clouds and water which are all available from AVSIM.Except for around large airports,I get between 28-38FPS,around the large airports I drop to 12-15.I have also tweaked the config file so that I don't seem to get any blurries or stutters,also,SP1 for fsx has been installed.Autogen is full up,as is the level of detail radius.Mesh complexity is set at 80,Mesh resolution 1M,texture resolution=1M,Water High2x.Clouds are set to medium high, detailed. The one thing that really peeves me off about FSX is that when you fly over the southern alps there's hardly any snow and thats in the middle of winter,Mr M sure got that one wrong.
