well after persevering through vista for the last month and a bit, and several reviews for fsx, vista finally killed it's self in my eyes today, it will not connect to the wireless internet, no matter what i do, i have tried yell at it, removing and reinstalling the wireless car, rebooting the wireless router, everything i can think of, i am going to go back to XP SP2, at least that runs without fail, uses less resources and is soo much more stable. downside i will only see 3.5 gig of my 4 gig memory. anyone else had these vista issues?? RIP Vista

Well I've never been a fan of Vista myself, though for reasons that aren't it's fault.
The limited exposure I have had to Vista has been fairly neutral - I've had no problems but not been amazed or 100% pleased by it either.
I think for most people there's no reason to go to Vista, and for people already with it there's usually no reason to go back.
At least XP is tried and true, I've never had a problem with XP.
Good luck, hope you don't have any further issues

I feel the same about vista but the dx10 games are forcibly keeping me there. I've had no unfixable issues with viata so far. It's a shame you have had problems.

I am in the very unhappy with Vista group, and wished that I had kept XP. No end of problems with Vista.
smooth landings.

There is a mixed reaction to vista, there are a few people who like it, a few who thing it is average and some that hate it.
Good to hear that you have FS X working well on XP

So what kind of fps are you currently getting on FS?

Well those certainly aren't bad frame rates

As for Vista, I think part of it's problem is that they took so long to get it out and they stripped half the features they'd promised.
There was some good stuff going to go into Longhorn/Vista, but a lot of it got dumped because of time and stuff.
That's part of the reason I'm not a Vista fan, but I will probably end up with it on my next computer, as it is the way of the future (until Windows 7) and XP Pro licenses seem to be expensive compared to Vista licenses.

well looks like i won;'t be in the virtual skys for a few weeks, my motherboard seems to have fried itself, and i am not paying $80.00 to have a tech tell me it's fried

, when i can replace it for $101 for the same board. so looks like it is RIP vista and Asus motherboard!!

yeah it is less than a month old, in fact a month tomorrow. i am going to take the motherboard in to the shop i brought it from and see if they will replace it, if not a new motherboard here i come!!
EDIT: well new motherboard it is, it appears that when the oven blew it sent a surge that the surge protector didn't catch and it fried a couple of capcators that were critical to the system. i have got a new motherboard and am going to be getting a new powersupply that has built in surge protection as well. hope to post some screenshots next week from the new system, now i am back up and running. Also will be uplaoding some pics of the hawker hunter that left here a while ago, shame i didn't have a video camera, the nosie was awesome!!!
