Well I know some of you may be getting sick of me asking all these questions, but I can't find help anywhere else.

My old speakers had had enough, went out and got some more today. The only problem is, I can't get the subwoofer to work...so there's no bass at all (so jets on flightsim sound like they're quiet) I've followed the instructions, had a look on the site and still can't get it to work. They're the logitech LS21 speakers. If anyone can help that would be great!

I'm not sure about these speakers in particular, but my Logitech speakers that are a little bit similar just plug together with a D-Sub cable.
The speakers are joined together and one D-Sub cable runs from one of the speakers to the sub.
Power plugs into the sub, and headphones plug into one of the speakers (controls are there too).
My sub has a volume knob on the back that goes right to zero, at zero no bass comes out. At 10 they're quite bassy. Do you know if yours are similar?
Have you tried Logitech's website for help as well?

Been there and can't really find any help...except for them offering me the manual, which I don't need seeing as I got it with the speakers. Both the small ones go, but the sub just refuses to. Like yours, there's a knob on the back to change bass, it's at maximum now, no sub though. I really don't know why it's not going. I plugged in my old speakers, that still goes (except for one of the small ones, and the other small one has static). I thought there would have been a power button on the sub too, but there's not...only a power switch on this little thing that comes out the back of the sub.

I'm out of ideas why it's not working.

Ok, I unplugged the smaller speakers, and turned up the volume, the sub does go...but at max volume and max bass, its so quiet that you can barely hear it.

I'm thinking maybe the sub isn't working properly or is damaged, if I can't get it going properly I'm going to take it back to DSE and try another one. I don't think the sound settings on my comouter should do anything, I haven't changed the settings from my last set of speakers. Maybe I haven't set it up properly in the sounds and audio devices part.....but I was under the impression of plug in, power on and that's it.

Have you got a sound card or just using default headphone jack on the motherboard ?

buying a sound card splits the channels down each line and the software has a equalizer to control the sound to each speaker ,have you two plugs one for front a one for sub come off those speakers ?ie like two plugs that you can plug in

A thought, you're not using software to manage your sound card that could be doing this?

As far as I know, it's just onboard sound, so yeah I'm using the headphone jack on the back if the machine.

The only plugs on the speakers, is the power, and another bit, which plugs into the back of the sub, on the same cord it splits and I plug the other end into the back of my computer. My old speakers were different, the small speakers were seperated and had the ends of the cord exposed (wire, stick it in the part on the sub etc), power cord and a cord to go from the sub to the headphone jack.

I did ask the guy at DSE if they they would work without problems, and wouldn't need anything else like a soundcard, he said they'll go without problem.

Well, the only thing that I use (apart from the MS default one) is this realtek sound manager, that came on the cd with all drivers and things for when I need them.
