Hi there guys,

As you'll probably know i'm still on the hunt for a new computer. What is better to run FS on: AMD or Intel? Why What exactly are these?

Thanks.

If you want to run FS the best, keep away from AMD. FS is CPU dependent, and AMD just havnt caught up with Intel yet.
You will want to get a quad core intel to run FS well. Im thinking a Core 2 Quad Q6600 should do you fine. AMDs new quad core series, the Phenom II has just caught up with the Q6600 which has been out for over a year.
Hope this helps

yes, but if you can't quite afford a intel, amd's are not that bad, i am running an AMD Phenom 9850 quad core, it seems that you have to get the best motherboard you can with the AMD's as i got the best performance with the best motherboard i could find. FYI i am running FSX with 90% of the sliders all the way up and still getting 30ish FPS.

i agree. Intel is ahead if cost is no issue (ie the best of the best intel vs best amd). Both are very much the muchness for the 3-400$ mark.
