Frame rate per second

The place to ask for help or solve each others technical issues and discuss hardware

The frame rate jumps between 4.5 and 30 when I fly in FSX. My computer is single core, 1.5 Ram, Nvidia 7300 video card and no dedicated memory. Is there anything I can reset so that the frame rate doesn't vary so much, without taking all the settings to minimum?

sounds like a bit of good old fashioned throttling. i had the same prob with my old nvidia 7500 , i got a better card and all better. im not sure theres much you could do without buying/upgradiing stuff but you might try shutdown background or even foreground apps that are running apart from FS

make sure you have installed service packs 1 and 2, and with that hardware you'll need to turn down a few settings. Especially water, and autogen, keep them low, that should help. Especially make sure you don't use light bloom effect
