ApronLife works surprisingly well on my complex setup. I have GSX Pro running with either BATC or FSHUD - both using FSLTL models. On top of that, I've also recently bought "Airside" - an ATC simulator.
Considering the vast permutations of jetways, ground models etc. between default, freeware and payware scenery, I thought it'd be a right mess. I've sat there (in Airside), just watching aircraft go through all stages of startup, loading then departure (and also the reverse). The correct vehicles appear to do their stuff at the appropriate times. Yes - they frequently go through static objects etc., but they do try to avoid each other. Early versions of ApronLife had them crashing into each other all over the place, like some mad demolition derby. Now much improved, but vehicles (mainly loaders) often mow down boarding passengers - but that's always been a GSX problem.
With AutoFPS, I can tweak LOD settings to get nice vehicle animations, then tweak back to something decent for actual flying.
