Now available for purchase, exterior model only with sound and panel aliased to the default 737...
http://www.captainsim.com/products/x737/100/exterior.html

promo video on Youtube, some pretty snazzy details...

looks very nice, but I think I'll be holding off (as I am for the 777) for the completed base package and the 200 variant

OK I couldnt help myself, have been looking forward to this release since I heard about it months ago so went ahead and bought the external model tonight. And its a beauty. The attention to detail is just fantastic, the model itself is glorious, animations are great, and the detail in the textures supplied with the 100 is pretty awesome. Even though it doesnt ship with a sound pack or panel you'll be pleased to know I've checked out it with a slightly modified TinmouseII 2D (steam gauge) panel and JT8 sound-set from Christoffer Petersen which both work fine so you dont have to use the default 738 panel and sound.

Have posted a couple of screenies following to compare the details in the new captainsim 737-100 vs the freeware TinMouse 737-200. If anyone wants any special details compared let me know. And yes I know it's not really a fair comparison given one is a full commercial product and the other a freebie, I am in no way criticising the venerable TM2 which is fantastic in its own right, just thought a comparison might help others who are considering buying this CS product.

Is it only me who finds the idea of buying the exterior only, then later having to buy the other parts, annoying? Why not release the whole lot when it is ready?

smooth landings.

Ive have brought only to hanger it , $9.99 is cheap and when the full package is complete on a norm save $20.00US , how could they use a default 737 cockpit , nothing alike , still waiting on our triple7 cockpit and end of the day only 3 100s operated in New Zealand from 1987-89

haha... Nice Rotor, got lots of fond memories of hanging out w my granddad in his greenhouse
@happy - no you aren't the only one, there are a few hundred others in the avsim etc forums with the same complaint, noones forcing you to buy it now tho, let's not whinge about it too much
@Ian... Yeah the panel thing is pretty tragic but as I say the tm2 panel looks and works great so is a good stop gap, and the JT8 sound pack is excellent

Dean TM2 , a 3d panel ? i will have to check it out , actually very surprised much of the 707/727 panel could not be used to speed the completion of a true 737 CS 737100/200 panel

Nah it's 2d only, and yeah I'd say your right about the panel components coming from their other retro models surely they'll borrow heavily from them

Every thing but the tail was very simple, usually CS paint kits are a pain but this one isn't to bad. I got the words to match first go.

Added Rego, name of aircraft and the stars. If you see something wrong with the stars say it now before I put the tails on them.

I even painted her uniform
