Hey guys. Thought I'd plug a wee flight sim news related thing I've been up to over the last month or so. Have been using the awesome ScoopIt tool to curate an ezine/blog kinda thing to do with Pacific flight sim. Basically am dropping daily posts with pics to things that have been released or that are going on in the flight-sim world that are relevant to Pacific rim simmers. This doesnt compete for eyeballs with nzff, its not a forum and not interactive, more of a casual flier sorta thing for people who may be after a little sim-inspiration when flying down-under. biggrin.gif

Have 120 posts on it now and have had over a thousand visits to it so far. Will be including references to posts here when the clever members at nzff.org announce stuff, but am also sourcing material from loads of other blogs, news sites and forums etc.

Have a squiz, and let me know what you think...

Nice work Dean- Do you get to choose which side of the page the articles go? Perhaps it would be a good idea to have one side for FS news and one side for real-life aviation?

Almost like a 'Flight International News Brief' page interesting to keep up with updates and current news and other reports , NZ related Utube footage a cool add in .

Thanks Timmo. Yeah that would be a nice feature but it just kinda lays things out depending on the size of the wording and the size of the picture.
Is actually kinda neat, for publishing any special interest topic actually

Good stuff Dean. I look forward to visiting this page regularly for those important updates in the simming world. It would be nice to be able to leave comments after each article (as in the Avsim web site) but I guess this brings with it it's own set of issues.

What he said......

I found it a great mix, very interesting...even forwarded on to a couple of aviation buffs who are not into simming.

Good stuff. thumbup1.gif clapping.gif

That would be interesting to hear their take on a "Virtual Flight International" ... it may turn then to the couch flying side , many already do of course the other side of it being promotional for the developers and designers.

Thanks for the feedback lads, yeah its quite interesting the overlap of the real and virtual communities and I too have a couple of RW aviators who often show a polite interest in our goings on winkyy.gif
I'm not gonna go too overboard on the real-world posts but I find most of my flying is emulating real world operations, if I hear of a new route or machine I'll often do at least one leg to copy it

@steve - yeah did think about comments, but then it might as well be a blog, I like the easy publish nature of this ScoopIt thing, will give it a few more months and see how it goes
