A great DC3 and for that matter a new F27 for FSX would certainly not go a miss in my hanger and if PMDG got involved in modelling a DC3 then you could guarantee that it would be a great model, hope its not just a rumor

Well considering that we've been waiting for the Vertigo Studios DC-3 for over a year now, I'm a bit reluctant to believe, or even hope... I don't monitor development forums anymore...sigh...

Dan , I think its still good to follow development , JustFlight released their DC-3 , so VS reversed to make it better and listen and look at idea's .. it would have been very interesting to see the build and compare the models and have a chance to put some knowledge or feed it back to them , many other groups are just the same .

Well, I, for one, welcome the inclusion of a native FSX DC3.
With the exception of the Awesum4Sum default variant (and even that needed the Bitzer/Beaumont touch), the Dak has not been modeled to death as some are want to claim. The Just Flight DC3 is a joke (very pretty to look at, but the FDE is abysmal).
I am surprised to hear this; I understood PMDG said they would not compete with the donationware FS9-FSX port-over MAAM sim DC3; however, considering that 6 years have passed with no new release forthcoming, good on PMDG (if it is true)!

Yep another +1 for PMDG DC3,
IMHO the JF one is just terrible, and the VS one you will never see...they dont even talk about it anymore over there, as it stands in FSX to this day the only DCx worth flying is the DC2.

Latest scuttlebutt from the Avsim thread - the tail reg on the DC-3 pictured used to belong to a Piper Apache (RSR used to own an Apache), and the DC-3 which it was allocated to this year is registered to a company in Alexandria, Virginia (RSR lives in Alexandria). Normally PMDG would be all over a rumour like this one but they've said nothing except RSR explained why there's a towel hanging on the plane's tail and Ryan replied with a smiley face to someone who said they wanted a PMDG DC-3.
If it's a rumour it's a heck of a good one.
For the people who think there are enough DC-3's in the world, this will be using the same tech that is going into the DC-6 and the announcement of that talked about things like "carefully planned descents with plenty of drag so you can keep the power up in order to maintain engine temperatures and avoid torque loading the engines!" - are any of the other DC-3's that are out there modelled to that degree ?

Probably not but then again there are some aircraft that are not modeled at all and probably should be.

Old joke alert ...
An old fighter pilot was talking to a school class about his war experiences when he said "these 2 fokkers came at me out of the sun". The teacher came running forward and called out "Children, a fokker is a type of aeroplane, he means 2 mens in fokkers came at him out of the sun." "Actually," replied the pilot, "these fokkers were in Messerschmitts".
ba-dum ching !

I have the MAAMSIM DC-3 Update in use. It´s far from perfect, but... it is better, as the crippled one from Just flight. It´s VC and the flying characteristics are trash.
But... I dislike any comment about such silly PMDG-clucking. Let us wait for an usable DC-3 from them. But stop all this nonsense about "if" or "maybe". If they have sometimes in 2020 anything... they can inform me via mail and not with long ... long ... long speculations in any forum. Sorry, but many have enough from this clucking.
