EDDT V2 for FS2004.
Yes you heard right, Aerosoft have just released this.
Rather nice, and it's what FS9 does better than anything else: Big airport, lots of AI.

OOOo That dose look so almost FSX , it amazing the the frames you do get in FS9 compare to FSX five year old machine, it would be an interesting try at looking at Auckland redoing the AGN and airport build , I thought it would be impossible to buy FS2004 by now, having a quick look it freely d/loadable .. not sure its legal .. ?

That does look very nice, I remember those days where everything was a box, and the quality depended on how much work you put into your textures. They obviously make very nice textures....
I'm sure it can still be done, but we're talking about a country with 20 times the population of NZ, and within 1 LONZ unit (my unit of measurement, 'length of New Zealand'!) all of Europe with a population of 700+ million. Hell, if I lived there I'd do a FS2004 airport.

Quite funny, My FS9 was installed but since WIN10 went on the system I have not used it , so CD's out to re-install just to maybe see if I can change anything , re-hone skills maybe course just to see, I did have plenty of 2004 aircraft ... dated right back to 2004

and older we are so are those.

Wouldn't go to those places Ian, you might pick up a communicable disease!
20 bucks will get you a copy off Amazon.
But there's plenty written about installing on WIN 10 - most important, don't put it in the -386 folder, C:\Flight Simulator 9 does the job.
Maybe turn UAC down & run as ' Admin'.

Yes but no OOMs and VAS's and all that.
In fact, there's a lot of grizzing about the Effeh Sex version of this scenery.

You're right, you have to
wantto do it, otherwise no point.
But for me, FS9 is quite charming in its visual shortcomings. Sure you get places where you certainly don't feel driven to pop a screen, and your imagination has to stretch a little.
But then you arrive at a well-done bit of scenery and go: Aaah.
I get it every time I start up at Real NZ Marlborough...
This probably won't happen for you if you are flying ORBX eye candy all day

One should not have to pay for it again and are you going to get a WIN10 working copy?

I'll try that , I see others having this very problem so every thing worth giving a go is worth it for the wider Joe pub and find a quick solution , we should not have to tho.

Didn't take long before the thought off the BIG FOOT coming down again , I thought simply for a bitta fun lets have a looks ... down go the zippers and ya flushed ! .. again should not have happened.

I notice went across to other forums before D/loading .. i think this were were I can actually say "WIN10 is a gay OS" , simply its UP YOUR JACKSIE, there are millions out there who still use FS9/2004 XP WIN7 , I had a perfectly good running FS on a separate HD , I see what happen if I can create a independent folder , simply program files/bla bla bla.
I did a check with Combat Flight Simulator 3 and that also has funked out .... Microsoft really are not doing themselves any favours .

So what's the issue with installing FS2004? I'd actually be very surprised if the discs still worked, it's a fact of life that the 'archival' discs which they raved about all those years ago just don't work a decade later. Not to mention didn't FS2004 check for a disc every time you ran it? That disc would be the most at risk.
I only have a working FSX because I've never had to reinstall it -- if it stopped working, or if I changed systems I'd have to buy FSX-se, as the discs are certainly not readable, and they are only half the age of FS2004:)

Actually, just went looking at Trademe for any FSX or FS2004, got sidetracked with these:
Millennium Falcon737 sim...Charl -- yeah, I've been sticking to the logistics of building FS2004 scenery in our chats, actually building a nice FS2004 system is a different thing -- I understand the attraction of a retro sim, but my main interest is what's yet to come -- I always have the latest, and when I get it, I'm looking for the next version.... My favourite sim used to be FSX 11, but since it didn't ever happen, now it's Prepar3d v5.5!! I just have to try and live that long.

Actually Rob, you would very simply impressed how new the CD's are .. they look brand new, .. Archived they go in a shelf upstairs in the box which also looks brand new , I got this from the Computer Center in Christchurch, I had them phone me when it came in early 2003 , nice to get a phone call at work and leave work to get my copy .. almost 14 years old and Still working perfect !

Yeah, but are they readable? the problem with discs is not so much wear, as they just corrode. If they do read ok, then what stops the install?

Factory manufactured CD should not degrade at all if looked after , same with music CD s now 23/25 years old work perfectly here.

Final thing that has to be taken into account , as i'm looking back into it again , FS9/2004 was working perfectly fine pre WIN10 install .

Oh! you need the No-CD crack to make it work... MS changed the Digital Rights Management by way of an upgrade to WIN7 (which was inherited by WIN10) and killed FS9 and a whole lot of other legacy software.
I'm dwelling in blissful WIN XP SP3 land running my FS9 so no expert, but that was the subject of much (hush-hush) debate a while back.

I do have the 'NO CD' patch and the FS9.1 Update patch , that was installed with the previous, I cleaned out another HD and created a folder specific 'Program Files' rather X86 , everything thing is worth a plug at, If works it will help, I hope it dose work.

I now have three different FS9 installs on diff HD's last install if a fresh via the 4XDC's and went in fine, it should have run , the other was copied over the top off the previous so give me something to play around with ... lot people would say why bother, but I think this need to be at looked into ... its like buying a cart ...... but years previous someone shot all the horse's dead.
