I do have a KG5 Class Battleship, old but not a fast workin model , but the Midway class Carrier had very simular hydronamic hull design to which this BB class was design'd from , based off the Iowa's .. got to et that in the water 2 .. degrest'd from suject .. have models off both .. we need these as PC models to land on :)

Do the models work in FSX , with the landin mode . If u are not sure .. be happy to try

Lookin good

They're in FSX, landable, and pilotable. Bit rough to land on it in heavy seas, realistically the ship must be either at full speed (irons out the wave action) for a decent landing.

Correct, only got it working in FSX. Given SP1 has made FSX stable for use at USEC, we are not likely to support any more downloads for FS9.

hey Ian when I get the ferry pack out you will be able to sub in these ships to cross the straits don't have fsx but know of a couple of glitches with some of the boats from my testers (the arahura and asuka are ok in fsx though;)

They do look good.

Actually, this is a general question and applies equally to the various ferries etc we've seen in other threads: So how do you use them? Do they come with AI "flight" plans, or what? And how do you go about sailing them? (never used a boat in fS!)

the sounds and ferry pack are all AI but ihave used pilotable ships before and it is like flying cept you go accros the water the problem with the ships though is you go too fast they take off (in 2004) but gives you a different perspective of the game

There are pilotable ships for FS2004 and FSX, that perform much the same as you would expect a ship too. This is because limited physics was implemented in the FS engine to allow for float planes.

Actually you couldn't really be more wrong, kiwiusa. I suspect that you are using AIR and CFG files from aircraft, without editing them to have flightless characteristics. With some careful editing, you end up with an aircraft with no wings and a very large float point... in other words... a ship!

The ships USEC produce run between 20 - 30 knots, operate like real ships including rocking, bow waves, and landable/crashable areas on the ships. We're working on effects for firing the guns.

Indeed, properlly configured, the ship "pilot" must contend with many of the features one would expect from maritime activity, such as during last nights test we noticed a strong wind causing a ship to drift slightly towards another.

Any of those with a nautical bent, we are looking for maritimers at our new Pacific Task Group, http://www.usecforce.com/
