BRISTOL FREIGHTER MK 1 TO 31 FOR FSX FROM REPLICAIR

I've been researching this since 1996 and have been modelling since 2005. It's gone through several transitions mostly as a result of fresh information and upgrades to FSDS. The latest change was to FSX.
There is no release date as this is my first model and so I'm learning as I go.

Now that I see the bigger pictures the detail looks amazing. You have obviously researched the real thing quite thoroughly.

Hi Steve,

welcome to NZFF.
Your model looks fantastic.
Do you have an estimate time of arrival ?
Will it be payware or freeware ?

Cheers
Phil

Phil

Thanks for the encouraging words. I don't have an estimate time, but feel I'm on the home straight with all the major structures the way I want them.
There are some internal details to add, and the remaining big concerns are the VC and texturing.

I have been debating whether to do a 2D panel, the original concept was to provide all the gauges and switches via the VC model and not bother with a 2D panel although it may be possible to provide a purely 2D view of the VC.

Texturing is the really big hurdle I've bought a specialist software that allows paint direct on to the 3D surface and although I done various trial runs I haven't used it in depth, and there are a lot of polygons.

I hope that at least 50% of the finished detail will be in the textures, with the aid of bump mapping etc. so it could take some time. The only thing I'm really conscious of is to try and get it out before either a new release of FSDS or FS ? comes out !

At this point I'm aiming for it to be payware at somewhere in the region of $30.00 US if that's not too much as I've put a lot of work and travelling into it.
The finished release may include all the early marks ie. 1 through to 31 or I may put them out separately, but I don't think there is enough interest for that. The mark 32 ( when I get around to it ) would definitely be separate. Also I have plans for a turbo prop / glass cockpit version the mark 31T.
Anything's possible in FS.
