A place for 'real world' pilots and aviation enthusiasts to discuss their hobby

I think I've found the holy grail of websites for New Zealand aviation history and aviation firsts!
If you want routes for old airlines, first flights out of airports on their opening days, first routes for a type in NZ, then this is the site you want to save as a favourite ;)

An example of something from the webpage:

1965, 24 November

ON THE OPENING OF AUCKLAND INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

At Mangere, NZNAC transferred its operations there from Whenuapai. The first NAC aircraft to depart from Mangere was a Friendship on the Nelson service, followed by a Viscount to Christchurch and a DC-3 to Whangarei.

Here is the webpage.

It doesn't work properly in Firefox, and has some glitches in the latest Explorer, but it is still quite usable. Hope this helps with your retro AI, or just any historic flights you'd like to recreate.
