Just wondering because a friend was asking me why old people like lancasters etc. and young people like myself like modern airliners.

Hey ya Matey .." All " to add to the list!

There is real brilliant's in the WW2 bombers, , transports , Fighters ... The DC-3 ... example : go do the walk around , I have been on board a Lanc , the MOTAT Jobby in Auckland , When u veiw this plane , scary to think, at times the oldest in command was only 21 , and many younger ! Over choosen target area , all hell breaking .

Then todays Mil/Civil , they all are very amazing .. Example : walk into a Undercarridge wheel well on a C5B Gaxlaxy ! view the engineering , its whicked! , Do the YSSY airport tour .. 747s/340's/MD11's/.. Antonov's , Tupolevs

Your Helicopters .. Erikson Skycrane ! that demo was amazin .. AH64D , acted like a p****y , Chinooks out me ears

WW1 fighters and recent revival off even earlier types ! ... Bleriot

Plane old Ian :) Its the History!

If it flys, I like it :D

Of course younger people like the "big and new" aircraft, but theres some awsome stuff from way way back too, I do say I know alot mroe about more modern aircraft, but theres some real buties from many many years ago..

(yes I voted for every catogory) :P
