Cook Strait Area Rally

A place for 'real world' pilots and aviation enthusiasts to discuss their hobby

Postby PILOT WARRIOR » Sun Nov 11, 2007 12:56 pm

This was hosted by Hawkes Bay and East Coast Aero Club this year, a good weekend was had by all.
Wanganui got second equal in the Wigram Challenge Cup and I got third in the flight manoeuvres and circuit rejoin but no luck in non instrument circuits.
But however other Wanganui members had some sucess in other events, we won the liferaft dropping and navigation. Second in the bombing, intermedite aerobatics and forced landing without power and a third placing in limited panel - instrument flying.

Here are some pics that I took.

Mt Ruapehu.

Arriving at Hastings Aerodrome.

Tiger Moth and Maule.

Ribbon Cutting (aka Streamer Cutting) if you look hard enough you can see the toilet paper just in front of the plane.

Aircraft parked.

Beechcraft Queen Air B80 (so sad to see a plane like this)

A Dominie/Rapide
