Live new zealand atc on the web?

A place for 'real world' pilots and aviation enthusiasts to discuss their hobby

I've listened to a few live atc's on the web (Chicago) and then got to wondering if there were any sites here in New Zealand.

Do you know of any? >nzflag<

There was a couple on www.liveatc.net ; but they had to be taken down because it was a breach of some law in New Zealand. A real shame :(

Someone did post a link to a Wellington one around here a while ago, but I could never get it to work properly, and can't seem to find the thread any more...

I often find myself listening to the Sydney feed on liveatc.net

Probably the easiest way to listen in at the moment would be with a scanner. DSE is selling them for $229 (which is a rip-off really, I bought mine late last year from them for less than half that price...), but if you hunt around you might be able to find a better deal, or maybe second-hand off trademe etc? :)

Wellington Aeroclub has a manual tuner (with the knob that you turn) for $40 I think.

Isn't it evident?? Boeing are my favourite aircraft.

P.S. that's is my real birthday but I wish to keep my real age secret to keep you all pondering.

Yes it appears the Wellington ATC radio here seems to be offline at the moment. There was also a live webcam overlooking the airport but that says it will be offline until Jan. Hopefuly the radio will be back on by Jan aswell.
