Royal Australian Air Force Lockheed C130J Hercules A97-441, as mentioned in a previous blog entry, was noted at a number of North Island spots today with its navigational exercise starting from Woodbourne, then moving to Ohakea, Taupo, New Plymouth, Hamilton, Rotorua, Auckland, Whangarei and finishing at Whenuapai.

Saw it at school, we wondered what it was. Someone suggested it was an Orion, I thought it wasn't an Orion though it did look different from the RNZAF Hercs.
Well that explains that.
I considered taking a picture with my phone, but some teacher would have confiscated it. dry.gif

Mmmmm yeah smile.gif , them there 6 blades make a C130 sound like a p****y (2 atrs tapped together) after many years watching the older 'F' USNAVY types taxi out .. and some of the later you may change your mind , and to see them return from the ice 3 stacked , dark/light grey and dayglo red with a set of skis ... a very impressive aircraft cool.gif

Saw a Herc out and about today while I was in town today (Rotorua). I think it was a New Zealand one.
Seeing as its Tuesday, its probably just an ordinary navigation/training thing.
Happens quite a bit on Tuesdays sometimes.
