Just read that BMI will be flying empty planes from LHR to save landing and take off slots at LHR. Crazy to waste so much fuel.....

Its crazy but it's just wasting one commodity over another.
It must make sense for them, but it doesn't make much sense for the environment or for the fuel shortage.
Just comes down to which is cheaper, Heathrow slots at 30 million pounds each or oil at $140+ a barrel.

Why don't they start new routes or add more capacity and make some attempt to fill them.
