Still not convinced on those top photos, basically the colour and perspective on most of the photo look incorrect. The smoke in the first photo looks BS also.

I just thought the P-51 looked huge compared to the F-15 in some of those shots especially the 5th one. If you look in this photo there seems to be a big difference in size, also, the A-10 also looks as if it's flying a bit off course but maybe that's just the lens. I am not trying to offend anyone or sound smart. I am just skeptical about most things on the internet. Maybe they are real but something is definitely different.

I really like the last shot how you can see the shock wave.

Thats because in the 5th shot the P51 is closest to the camera and the other aircraft are to its right, behind and below it !!!

Then why does it look like you are looking down on the A-10 and F-15? If the aircraft were getting further away from the camera I don't think you would be looking down on them like that. winkyy.gif

I think we need Gavin Conroy here...

I received those photos ages ago when they were first released and believe they are real.
If they were put through the photo chopper the person who did it would have done a better job, for example blurred props on the Hercules and photos more level in the frame and there are other things.

I remember when the Classic Wings cover was released of the 7 Triplanes in formation and the editior and I received emails saying it must have been tampered with to get the aircraft looking like they appeared but it wasnt we just had a good day with good pilots.
At first I was quite angry but looked at it as a compliment in the end.

Sometimes it is interesting how aircraft look through the camera lens.
If the lead aircraft is too close it will look huge compared to the others so you have to either get the fomating aircraft in closer or move the leader out so some sort of perspective is shown and you always try and lead with the smaller aircraft in the formation.
The photo of the F15 and P51 over Liberty illustrate this well.
Not always the case as when you look at the four ship flying down the river the F15 pilot is high and further up on the P51 so looks huge as it should yet the F16 looks small even though he is probably only a metre or two behind the lead P51.
It takes very little distance to make a huge difference to a camera and working with different aircraft types makes it harder for everyone but rewarding when it goes well.
In the other shots, the P51 is closer and its like kicking goals in rugby, the wider that angle the longer the distance becomes.

The one thing would have made the shot look more historic is an F18 or another fighter instead of an A10.
I do like the A10 but it looks out of place with three other fighters but if I was taking those photos I wouldnt have given two hoots as you get what you get and would have been a great view.

Thats my two cents anyway.
