Wellington harbour today

Driving into Wellington today I noticed (as one could hardly fail to notice) a huey playing chase with the police boat. I couldn't stop (to my frustration) but luckily they were still playing when I drove back so I parked up and watched for a while. The huey would settle into a hover, lower down the hoist, haul it up again, change position and repeat. After a while the Lady liz would charge up and down the harbour while the Huey chased around. It was great to watch. I'm just wondering if anyone knows what they were up to?

My guess is that there was a film crew on the boat but it could have been joint training.
