Standard Route Clearances

Touching around Nicks post re: vpa routing where do you find the waypoints for the low/high altitude highways ?

for example i want to do the ANZ link route to from NZAA to NZRO, the SRC for this is H372. The flightplanner i have (vasFMC) doesnt recognize the the highway number. I know the highways are a collection of waypoints between navigation objects, but what are these and where would i find the info on them ??

This has the routes and the relevant waypoints and navaids but your FMS needs to have the waypoints in it as well. The waypoints can be found:

I would try NZAA (Auckland) - AA (Auckland VOR) - H372 (airway) - RO (Rotorua VOR) - NZRO (Rotorua Airport)

Notice in the AIP that the SRC from Auckland to Rotorua say:

Breaking this down into parts you get:

RO - The destination airport (in 2 letter code)

AARO - The navaids you will probably need to insert at the beginning and end of the airway route. Apart from the airport. e.g. NZAA AA H372 RO NZRO

1 - Part of the SRC "code". e.g. AARO 1, AAWN 3 .....

H372 - The route, in this case airway

You can get a chart with all that s**t on it with AIP Vol 2 & 3

Just with regards to the original post here...If you have updated to the latest navdata AIRAC, there is no reason why VASFMC should not recognise it. If you have updated, maybe you are trying to enter it in the wrong format?

You would just need to enter, for the route Auckland-Rotorua
NZAA AA H372 RO NZRO

Yup have the enroute charts on order, forgot to get them when i got the VPC ones last week, starting to think a AIP subscrition might be easier.

The AARO actually has nothing to with navaids, its purely a route identifier for ICAO IFR flight plans. Its the departure airport and the destination airport.
