I am going for a flight in a tecnam for the first time on sunday and I want to know what to expect.

Are you starting formal flight training? or just having a trial flight?

Where are you flying? i.e. which Aero Club

Have you got flying experience in GA aircraft? or is this the first time you've ever flown?

I have got about 8 hours it the robin at north shore aero club. I am just going up for fun a parakai airfeld.

I haven't flown in a Tecnam personally - As Alex said, PM ZK-Brock, he'll be able to shed some light on Tecnam's for you winkyy.gif

So are you doing flight training part-time? Are you doing training for recreational flying, or going commercial?

I'm doing flight training myself, have about 70 hours. The best advice I could ever give you is to get on to the exams early, and get them out of the way winkyy.gif

I would like to fly any turboprop. I would like to go for air new zealand link And yes I have been getting up on my exams.

What do you want to know ? What do you think you might expect ?
They are not that much different to a robin, a little lighter (in weight) on the controls, slightly more sloppy in the role than the robin but other than that pretty similar.
Just lighter and feels a little more fradgile than the solid little robin.

The ole tecnams.



Light controls, good performance compared to the Cessna 150. But quite fragile, not really suited to the flight training student-abuse treatment. A cool point of difference was the stick controls as opposed to the traditional control column.

And get your exams done early! I'm sitting around waiting for my last exam result to come through, if I was a bit more organised I could be doing cross-countries!

i have flown one of these, they are very nice, correct me if i am wrong but someone told me that these aircraft are classed as a microlite. True?

Most are, some aren't such as the one in the photos above is a certified ga machine, P2002-JF. Not much different to the standard P2002 (which is microlite) except for a few guages, a carb heat and a few bolts and bars here and there. Hows this for crazy, you can fly the JF over built up areas but not the normal P2002....
