Trip to Auckland earlier this week.

A place for 'real world' pilots and aviation enthusiasts to discuss their hobby

Spent some time with a big aircraft and it crew from Canada.

More photos will follow and it was nice to photograph the first visit of a C17 to New Zealand and having unobstructed views was great.
Hercules 02 was flying a few circuits as well.
More to follow on the C17.
The crew was great and allowed a visit to the cockpit and were helpful with history and facts regarding the Canadian C17 aircraft.

While in Auckland last week Colin and I popped into Motat.

Was my first visit since 1990 so it was good to be back.
Will post some pics on the website when I get round to it.

Here are a few photos I took when we had a bit of down time.

Was good to see the big birds again and will head back again some time to see a few more.

love the shots gavin, love the moon in the lan airbus shot, great pics!!
In the ongoing battle between objects made of aluminum going hundreds of miles per hour and the ground going zero miles per hour, the ground has yet to lose.

Wicked shots there, especially of the shadows on -FRE. That would have been a winner if submitted into last months photo competition?

By the way-

Sorry, it was the first visit to NZ by a Canadian Air Force C17 according to the crew.
