Airshow @ Ardmore, Sunday 6th Dec. 09

A place for 'real world' pilots and aviation enthusiasts to discuss their hobby

Postby ardypilot » Wed Dec 02, 2009 11:05 am

Saw this advertised on the Wings over Cambridge forum

Should be a decent day if the weather holds out- Doug's Spitfire has been out and about quite a bit recently so will be good to see it's first rehearsed performance in front of a crowd as well as the Checkers new 2010 routine. I must also recomend heading down to the aeroclub for cheap beers and the best hot wedges for under $7 in the greater Auckland area tongue.gif

was there today, saw Gavin (Conroy) there, he didnt see me. and i saw Jim Hickey, lol. Checker 3 was forced to go around (landing) when he was close to colliding with the aircraft ahead. also went to watch them at Browns bay, was a good display until about half way through a helicopter about 5m away started up its engine..

You should have given me a shot Leow, caught up with a lot of people yesterday which was good.

Was a great day out, and flew with the two aircraft below at the end of the day.
Looking forward to quite a few Auckland trips.

Cool pics guys- thanks for sharing as I didn't bother coming down in the end after what happened to WDQ, and didn't have enough gas in my car to make it to the airfield as well as other commitments in the evening! Looks like the weather was mint though, wish I'd known you were up here Gavin as I would have come and introduced myself!

PS- Is that 'happy camper' Andrew H I can see in Harvard 92?

Was one of those wees where it was "do or dont I" due to weather but bit the bullet in the end.
Yip Andrew is Flying the Harvard and he flew really well.
Will dig out some more Trojan photos soon.

Spent Saturday afternoon at the international airport instead of Ardmore, was keep to see a few 7477s nd an A 380 and wasnt dissapointed.
