Thanks Marty , amazing to think the radiator fairing was hand made , tapped out into shape by a smooth mallet .

That first photo, WOW as soon as I seen it the engine sounds made a virtual flyby in my head. sooooo sweet

Thanks guys......its a great place to work....seems as if nothing is going on sometimes, but it never really stops. A very dedicated team of people out there.
Ive had the all clear to snap away in that area, so i will keep you up to date.

Its a pity it will never fly. Such a waste of a zero houred engine. I remember when I worked there that the engine was sitting in storage next door, still with the original stores label still attached to it.

Trev , your right , the Crew in the Wigram 'Air Force World ' bring the types up to an airworthy standard , very typical off all aviation historical builders around New Zealand only to stop short to get them flying , simply i guess the cost - in saying that , they will always be here

Trev...i know what you mean...two of those guys spent about an hour in 2 store today, looking for 4 tiny little "original" screws (really, Mitre 10 would have them) ....its seems odd to me...150% restoration effort ....for static display. But i guess, if the price was right....they may fly it off to a new owner....who knows.
