Yeah I caught the tailend of that this morning. I guess I'll have to reconfigure my Captain Sim C130 now!!

Alison did quite well with the reporting - except for calling the Co-pilot a 'Lieutenant'. While the TVNZ website reported the flights as "two orion planes"........ tongue.gif

' Have you ever notice that the experts who decree that the age of the pilot is over are people who have never flown anything? In spite of the intensity of their feelings that the pilot's day is over I know of no expert who has volunteered to be a passenger in a non-piloted aircraft..'

wouldve thought getting a half dozen or 10 new c130j wouldve been alot cheaper in the long run rather than trying to get another 5-10 years out of the old h models

You obviously don't listen then. $250m for the upgrade of our current fleet to what is essentially J-model avionics and a futher 10-15yrs life. New cost for 5x C-130J is well in excess of $1bn. How do you justify the further $750m expenditure for not a huge amount of gain?

smile.gif in regards to spotting 03 it consisted of me getting stuck at a red light(lucky I did would of missed it otherwise) and a large Grey aeroplane with 4 engines popping into the field of vision in front of me - so took a turn right and headed for the airport.
