Wanted: Maintenance/Construction Manual

A place for 'real world' pilots and aviation enthusiasts to discuss their hobby

Postby bennz » Tue Mar 29, 2011 7:53 am

Dear all,

I am helping a fellow photographer from airliners.net to restore the "only" remaining DH89A, Auster and L-4 in Iran which were neglected badly in the past 25 years.
He has volunteered to accept all the costs of restoration and have got the required permission from Iran Air Force ( which owns the planes ).

However, resources in Iran are extremely short and finding maintenance and/or construction manual for those aircraft is near impossible. Iran Air force hasn't kept the manuals either.

So I am looking to help this generous and aviation enthusiast by sending him as many information resources as possible. But personally I don't have experience nor direct access to such a document.
I would appreciate if anyone could advise me or possibly provide me with the maintenance/ construction manual for the above planes.
I am more than happy to pay for the costs.

Looking forward to your assistance smile.gif

Get hold of Charles Darby in Auckland. His Maintenance Manual collection is eshaustive!
I got a set of copies of L4 manuals from him many moons ago. Those manuals have since been passed on with the aircraft they were bought for.
I don't have any contact details for him sorry.
Cheers

Just a thought, but looking at their website, the de Havilland Heritage Centre may be able to help:

de Havilland Heritage Centre
PO. Box 107
Salisbury Hall
London Colney

AL2 1EX
UK

For de Havilland aircraft Technical questions contact:
John Stride at technical@dehavillandmuseum.co.uk

Worth a go I should think.
