I heard a rumour this morning that the Mount Cook fleet has been grounded due airframe cracks, can't find out anymore at this stage but a quick check on the AirNZ website show the ATR flights being cancelled, at least up until around 10am.

In the ongoing battle between objects made of aluminum going hundreds of miles per hour and the ground going zero miles per hour, the ground has yet to lose.

TV3 did well, they had a picture of the trusty 748 at the start of their story on the 6pm news but somebody must have said something because they corrected it later. TVNZ's file footage must have been old because there was a Qantas NZ Dash8 in the background.
