RNZAF Officer training

A place for 'real world' pilots and aviation enthusiasts to discuss their hobby

Hi,

I've just been invited to attend IOTC starting may 27th and was wondering if anyone here has been through the process and could give me a personal account of what to expect.

More importantly, I also wanted to know if there were any steps i could take now, that would best help me prepare both physically and mentally for training.

Just fyi: in terms of physical training, I continue to work on pushups and go for runs a few times a week. I attend a personal training session once a week who is specifically helping me ramp up my prep for the physical aspect of training.

So if there is anything more I can do, please feel free to either PM or post here.

regards

I haven't done the IOTC, but I have completed recruit course. From what I hear IOTC is recruit course crammed into 7 weeks, plus 7 weeks of officer specific training.. or something along those lines.

The best tip I can offer with the PT is practice doing the pushups after a run, make sure you can still do 30+ when you are exhausted from running. Oh, and during PT... don't fidget, don't move unless they tell you to. Squat pulses hurt.
