I was a young apprentice engineer at the time and saw it arrive. I was gob smacked at how much oil was needed to top the engines up. Never did find out what the issue was or the fix needed.

From memory they were an 'oil burner' which was normal for the RB211-D4 type.
I seem to remember when testing them they would even burn some![]()
