Getting some photo's for another FSX project, Barf at Wigram gave me opportunity to jump into the hanger queen
Devon, I lucky to get a ride in one a few years back as a sack spuds or just weight during a twin engine rate
training flight with good friend Dave Horsburgh , that was a memory that will never go, simply absolute fun ! cool.gif

and for the ex-navigation trainees and radio operators out there winkyy.gif

Bloody Jealous of you with some of the places you get into ... Oh how airport security has changed since the 1980s.

Great pics Ian - takes me back a few ????? years. Shame no pic of the trailing aerial reel at the RH seat - more than one aerial was left on a friendly farmers fence or on a fence on the approach to Wigram. smile.gif

My first ever flight in an Air Force aircraft was Devon , it was Navigator training flight . The Pilot was a Flying Officer (i think) called "Rusty" Robinson ... or Robertson , nice guy.
I didn't have much to do , except wind out / and in , the trailing aerial .... but for an 18 year old , i may as well have been the co-pilot .... it was magic.
You have to a yoga master to get into the cockpit , and a good one if your over 5ft tall winkyy.gif
I do recall how close the prop tips were to the fuselage ..... and how far away and exposed , the toilet was.

Those were the days ... 1 & 2 hangers full of Harvards and Devons , getting posted to Akl , and going there in a Dak . Coming home on leave in a Freighter (Bristol)
Both trips took all day , but that was the pace of life back then ..... i miss it.

The days we miss Marty, my first in the Devon I was back at HS, then I was probably only 4 ta 5 ft tall , climbing into the cockpit and staying in for hours .. well seemed that long .
