Jono, my nephew grabbed these shots last Sunday, evidently an engine/prop change between 30490 and 30493.....pretty rare to see this sort of stuff done in daylight ...good work Jono

This is still a LC-130H model. They've changed the propellers to be running this 8 bladed configuration as it gives better performance.

Thanks, lindstrim for cool answer and great hyperlink!!!

I never knew it would be possible to discard old engines from any C-130 that is not C-130J and install new engines with new propeller blades into the plane that make it look like C-130J to fool people such as me!!!!! Too bad I cannot do that on Captain Sim C-130s!!!

It's not new engines ...just new propellers

Ahhh thanks for correcting me and for the interesting fact.

That makes me wonder. Can I import new propellers from Captain Sim C-130J model base into any CS C-130 plane that is not CS C-130J????? That should be interesting challenge!!

Hi All

Merry Christmas and happy new year to you all

Skier 93 just came out of heavy Maintenance from number 1 hanger been in for over a year and odd that it needed 2 engine changes since then.
I think it has done 2 test flights it has not been to the ice this year as it has been in and out of the hanger.
The ski bird they took the engine off is now out side number 1 hanger. I think it might me next to strip down.
There is one skibird in the hanger in the left missing a elevator or was.
They changed to 8 blades as they were finding it had to source jatto. which is a shame i like the flames out the back :)
I'm only going from what i have been told and what i have seen.

Cheers
Todd

There is new technology coming for the LC130 including AUTO-PILOT, HIGHLY ACCURATE NAVIGATION SYSTEM and new radios that use SATELLITE MICROWAVE BROADBAND INTERNET. New Helmets with Helmet mounted displays. The future is good for the C130.
