Hi all,

Tomorrow Air New Zealand will be taking it's new B777-300ER (ZK-OKM) into Wellington. It's planned to arrive at 10.45am and leave around 3.30pm. Will be a great sight for those around!

They have had 777s in welly before , only a 200 series tho , be interesting to see its turn radius , we have 200s on occasion in CHCH and requires a push back to 02/20 before going to the gates .

Took these:

Must have been one of the hardest landings I've seen though. THey slammed it down and had it slowed down to taxi speed halfway down the runway (though aviation law requires them to ext at A1/A11)

Isn't it evident?? Boeing are my favourite aircraft.

P.S. that's is my real birthday but I wish to keep my real age secret to keep you all pondering.

When I said slammed, the video doesn't quite show it but it hit the ground fairly hard for its size and had a momentary bounce back up.
What was funny for the landing that the whole airport stopped moving to watch it. There were no aircraft or vehicles moving. Even the fire station staff had come out to see it. TZR (Sounds air) stopped while taxiing to watch it eve laugh.gif
I love that even Airport 1 (the car that checks the runway and stuff) had stopped to watch it in that third video.

Well now, that's the excitment for Wellington airport over for the year.

If I'd known she'd lift off so early I would've, but I figured they'd trundle past still on the rwy so didn't bother. Big mistake!

Parked at one of the gates in the Jetstar area, where it joins into the international area of the terminal.
