Anyone know if the RNZAF would release a copy of the Pilot Operating Instructions now they're disposing of them? I'm not interested in the avionics, all that stuff would be S rated I'd imagine, I'm more interested in the actual flying of the aircraft.

While I understand the "anti" feelings towards Politicians in general, but considering that Mapp had nothing to do with the original scrapping or
disposal arrangements, what do you consider he should have done....?

I guess his job - could have been more aggressive in sell but typical of management , Ole Clark was already hell bent on deleting the Strike Force (A4) even before on the base , as i said many times its going to bite em in the butt ... talking about Steve Moore the other day , million there as well for training and for what , i no we are miles/kms away from the pooh but when the pooh hits the fan again think we will have our strides down .

I have a contact....i can ask if you like, they can only say no.....wouldnt mind a copy myself.

It would be the early copy , but i would not mind a copy for my shelves

No good with people with wife,s but yes it would really look the part in my place ... maybe a lease deal , it sure as hell be well looked after

Disposal of Surplus Skyhawk Aircraft and Associated Holdings - Request for Proposal (RFP)

Her Majesty the Queen in right of Her Government in New Zealand acting by and through the Secretary of Defence and/or Chief of Defence Force (Defence) through this RFP is seeking the submission of Proposals from prospective purchasers interested in purchasing from Defence the remaining RNZAF Skyhawk fleet and associated holdings henceforth referred to as the â€˜Skyhawk packageâ€™, on an â€˜as is, where isâ€™ basis without any warranty as to fitness for purpose or air worthiness in its current state.

In 2001 the then New Zealand Government disbanded the Air Combat Force (ACF). The ACF comprised 17 US made A-4K/TA-4K Skyhawk fighter aircraft and 17 Italian made Aermacchi MB339CB training aircraft. After several years of negotiations the sale of the ACF has not been concluded. The Government has therefore directed an end to efforts to sell the ACF as a â€˜going concernâ€™. A reduced Skyhawk package is now available for sale. The Aermacchi aircraft fleet will be dealt with separately.

The Skyhawk aircraft have been in storage since early 2002, initially hangared but more recently outside. Throughout the storage period they have been subject to a formal maintenance package, including weather coatings and internal treatments, designed to preserve the integrity of the airframes and systems as far as is practical.

The Skyhawk package consists of three primary elements:

Airframes: five (5) complete with engine A-4K aircraft and three (3) complete with engine TA-4K (tandem dual seat) training aircraft.
Spare Engines, rotable spares, and consumables: including up to twenty (20) additional J52 engines.
Support equipment: includes an extensive inventory of ground support equipment and tooling, as well as technical training and maintenance publications.
While Defence may prefer to sell the Skyhawk package as a whole, Defence could also elect to divide the package and sell selected parts of it to different respondent(s).
