Congrats mate!! i have mine just around the corner too so do you have any advice?? fill us in with all the details from it please, would be muchly appreciated smile.gif cheers

Firstly I would say - go with what your instructor tells you about the test and the examiner. They've been doing it and know you, the area and the examiner.

Secondly, don't get too hung up on the route the test will take. Get to know your local area, the procedures, airspace etc etc well. You 'could' go anywhere. I for instance, due to where the majority of our training areas are, did most of my flying and practising out to the west and all my circuits at an airfield out there....... On test day the weather to the west was garbage so we went south and did the landings at an aerodrome I'd never flown into before........ Certainly made me have to think more :?

Thirdly, Your instructor wouldn't be putting you in for your test unless he was sure you were ready and capable, which you will be. You, your instructor and the examiner want you to pass, so relax, it's just another flight (with some dude you haven't flown with before!)

Good luck. Not that you need it winkyy.gif

I did - I was pretty chuffed actually, at least I can say that I landed there (flapless!) now, before the fat cats closed it.

Well at the moment, I'm studying my brains out for my PPL exams which are in 2 and a bit week's time- all 6 on the same day unfortunately.

What I've been doing each night after flight school is summarize my notes from each subject onto cue cards, reread them all and practice drawing diagrams etc. Has anyone else who's already been through this process got any tips for me? Memory isn't my greatest fortay, and I'm a little apprehensive about taking all the papers on the same day...

Cheers smile.gif

I did my PPL ground course at AFS... but as I was working fulltime, I did it part-time, so it was spread over like 8 weekends (8am to 5pm Saturday and Sunday)... which I believe gave me time for things to sink in...

We did all the exams over 1 day as well...

What you're doing sounds good, the constant reinforcement of the information and processes should help it stick. You will also want to do some work on exam technique, as quite often the difference between correct and incorrect in ASL exams is how you read the question.

I'm sure they have practice exams for you to work through... take them seriously and try to do them under exam conditions. It will make the actual exam seem less overwhelming.

You'll be sweet as, most of the PPL answers are common sense..

..not like IR exams where the correct answer is usually the most complex one tongue.gif

Sweet cheers guys- not getting much computer night at the mo, after a 30 minute drive home, dinner, then 4+ hours of studying, so there will be obvious delays with screenshot comp and newsletter etc. Sorry about this.

I think you'll discover your priorities are going to change a lot over the coming months and years! Don't sweat it - we'll survive ohmy.gif To quote from your site, concentrate on 'real world aviation' for now.........

No worries Andrew, I can pitch in with closing down comps at the end of the month and starting up voting if you need a hand. winkyy.gif
