Firstly I would say - go with what your instructor tells you about the test and the examiner. They've been doing it and know you, the area and the examiner.
Secondly, don't get too hung up on the route the test will take. Get to know your local area, the procedures, airspace etc etc well. You 'could' go anywhere. I for instance, due to where the majority of our training areas are, did most of my flying and practising out to the west and all my circuits at an airfield out there....... On test day the weather to the west was garbage so we went south and did the landings at an aerodrome I'd never flown into before........ Certainly made me have to think more :?
Thirdly, Your instructor wouldn't be putting you in for your test unless he was sure you were ready and capable, which you will be. You, your instructor and the examiner want you to pass, so relax, it's just another flight (with some dude you haven't flown with before!)
Good luck. Not that you need it' Have you ever notice that the experts who decree that the age of the pilot is over are people who have never flown anything? In spite of the intensity of their feelings that the pilot's day is over I know of no expert who has volunteered to be a passenger in a non-piloted aircraft..'

I did - I was pretty chuffed actually, at least I can say that I landed there (flapless!) now, before the fat cats closed it.'
